As one of the fastest growing brands in the action sports industry,(TGR) captures edge-of-your-seat HD and 3D footage exploring the physical and emotional limitations of world-class athletes.
Often working on multiple television series for stations such as Showtime, NBC and Fox Sports, TGR needed a system that would enable the company to add additional workstations while allowing its editing teams to work on projects simultaneously without crippling the workflow.
Installing Small Tree’s complete GraniteSTOR ST-RAID Ethernet-based shared storage system enabled TGR to increase its editing capabilities by a factor of three, as the facility grew from four workstations prior to the installation to 12 workstations, including six laptops and a group of new Intel-based Mac Pro’s.
For TGR, what was most attractive about the ST-RAID system was its affordable scalability, as the company was able to increase its storage from 8 TBs to 20 TBs without having to completely overhaul its existing infrastructure. All they had to do was buy a box, plug it in and the editing team was provided the kind of accessibility required to maximize creativity and productivity. Additionally, the GraniteSTOR solution allowed TGR to utilize an existing Mac Pro as its server, providing another cost saver for the company.
